  According to the Federal Statistical Office Germany, exports of industrial valves rose by 16 percent from January to November 2005 to amount to EUR 1.7 billion. As a result, German manufacturers recorded in 2005 a share of approximately 12 percent of the foreign market of industrial valves, which amounted to roughly EUR 15.2 billion according to calculations of the valve manufacturers association. In 2005, China was again the major importing country of German industrial valves. The volume rose by 62 percent compared to the previous year with deliveries to the &#118alue of EUR 173 Mio received by this country within eleven months. The development of exports of butterfly valves to China was particularly dynamic with an increase of 121 percent and a total amount of EUR 37.6 Mio. In the USA, the second sales market, German exports of industrial valves rose by 15 percent and amounted to EUR 119 Mio. France came third and purchased industrial valves to a &#118alue of EUR 112 Mio (plus eleven percent) in the first eleven months.
     German manufacturers recorded a higher-than-average growth in sales from January to November 2005 on the following sales markets:

    German imports of industrial valves dropped by three percent from January to November 2005 and amounted to EUR 663 Mio.
